Announcement from EuroFreight:

Dear Valued Clients,

As the situation of COVID-19 escalates in Malta; we would like to update you on the developments within our company and the country.
The Maltese Government is taking actions towards containing the transmission of COVID-19 and have put in place the various measures to this effect:

Mass gatherings of people have been canceled until further notice. Probably, a quarantine period will also be enforced in the coming weeks. However, this has not yet been confirmed.

Public transportation will continue to operate.

Schools have been closed down till further notice.

Many Private companies are working through plans to arrange flexible work arrangements or work from home while manufacturing operations is encouraged to continue. The Maltese Government has yet to issue and further implement rules and regulations for public well being.

Eurofreight office and warehouse are still open and operating. However, we have taken full safety measures for the benefit of all our staff and esteemed clients alike. Therefore effective immediately, we are not allowing anyone in our office other than our staff members. In the case that quarantine rules are imposed, The Eurofreight team will do their utmost so that all services will continue to be offered as usual. We have a team that shall operate from home to support the skeleton staff at the offices as well as keep our warehouse running so that, though with restrictions, we may keep providing our clients with our services.

Inland transportation

At present, still operating as there are no restrictions.

Airfreight

All International flights, in particular, those carrying passengers from 13th March, will require all passengers to be self-isolated for 14 days. Domestic flights are still in operation at this stage.

Ocean freight

Ocean freight services – as expected, delays are coming from China as well as trans-shipment and European ports – which are currently still operating, though not seeing the usual volumes expected throughout March. Due to the lack of space and high demand, we expect to see Peak Season Surcharges / Rate Restorations across the board from carriers from the beginning of April.

Monitoring the situation

Eurofreight Services will continue to monitor the situation as it develops, ensuring the health and safety of our staff while establishing a workable solution for the possibility of self-isolation policies being handed down by the Maltese Government.

As the situation continues to develop, we will provide further updates.

Please feel free to reach out to us should you require any further information or have any further queries regarding our services being affected by the COVID-19 situation.

While we thank you for your continued support, we would like to take this opportunity to spread words of hope at a time where most of us are focusing on what we are losing out on and how inconvenient things have become. At times like these, where many are fearful, let us put our attention on the positive that is available to us, as there is always goodness brought along in any circumstances.
  • LET US UTILISE THIS TIME TO REFLECT ON OURSELVES SO THAT WE CAN BECOME THE BETTER VERSION OF OURSELVES
  • LET US START THAT SOMETHING, THAT WE HAVE NEVER MADE THE TIME TO DO
  • LET US REALISE THAT THINGS CAN JUST CHANGE, SUDDENLY, WITHOUT NOTICE, SO THAT WE CAN TRULY APPRECIATE WHEN ALL IS GOING GREAT
  • LET US SPEND MORE QUALITY TIME WITH OUR LOVED ONES
  • LET US CONTACT THOSE PEOPLE WHO WE NEVER FIND THE TIME TO CONTACT AND SHOW THEM WE CARE
  • BE THE SUNSHINE TO PEOPLES LIVES, SPREAD THE WORD THAT THE BODY IS STRONG, OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM HAS THIS UNDER CONTROL, AND TOGETHER WE ARE GOING TO GET THROUGH IT
